Paul Kenny, GMB Acting General Secretary Said, “There have been significant changes in the tax treatment of company vehicles over the years. For some workers a company vehicle is just as essential a tool of their trade as is their bag of tools or their uniforms. For others it can be a perk and indeed a status symbol.
GMB would like to see the Inland Revenue tweak the tax rules to recognize more sharply the distinction between the company vehicle as an essential tool and a perk. This would be widely welcomed by workers who need their company vehicles to do their jobs.
