GMB Wins Morrisons Employment Tribunal

The GMB has won an important Employment Tribunal against Morrision’s Supermarkets attempt to prevent GMB representatives from attending national union meetings by refusing them paid time off as per their bargaining agreement.

Jeff Goswell, GMB Organiser said, “It is unfortunate that this matter had to proceed to an Employment Tribunal, but it is clearly a very important result and will now provide for more effective GMB representation within the Morrisions.”

Jude Brimble, GMB National Officer said, “This is an important issue that GMB Shop Stewards have fought hard over and this discussion hopefully will now encourage Morrisions to engage with GMB in a proper and meaningful and constructive way.”
